Gila Monster

My grandmother on my mom's side's family does a random drawing each year to see who gives who a gift so everyone gets at least one gift. I got my mothers cousin who is studying in Germany currently. He said he didn't really want much just something that reminded him of the US, or the Midwest _{Midwest for those who do not live in the US and are not familiar with this terminology it is just name of a region of the country made up of the states of Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, North & South Dakota, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Wisconsin, Michigan and Minnesota.} Sooooo I drew a Gila Monster because they are only found in part of North America, one specific subspecies is found only in the US _{and only in the South West}. So I thought it would work.

I drew it out first, colored the Gila Monster itself with Crayon and then used watercolors for the background. Partially because watercolors added a nice effect and it doesn't cover the crayon.
